Tom Murphy is demonstrating how the entire 6th grade can create a positive environment |
On Thursday, September 19th students at Dayton Avenue School had the opportunity to meet Tom Murphy, a champion mixed martial artist who competed in UFC events. Tom and his partner Jason Spector take their anti-bullying campaign across the nation. Tom and Jason give kids the tools they need to be Sweethearts & Heroes to one another. This is a proactive assembly that teaches children to become upstanders against bullying. Mr. Murphy makes it clear the he hates fighting and as a professional mixed martial artist he is a competitor. The Sweethearts & Heroes message fits seamlessly within our Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) system. Each day we positively reinforce
Safe,
Honest,
Accountable,
Respectful,
Kind, and
Successful behavior.
