South Street Students Visit Dayton Avenue School

Second grade students from South Street School came on their annual pilgrimage to Dayton Avenue School as they prepare to make the transition to third grade.  Students were teamed with third grade students and enjoyed a morning learning about the great things that take place at Dayton Avenue School.

6th Grade Students Visit Washington D.C.

For the first time since the merger Dayton Avenue School 6th grade students visited Washington D.C. as part of a culminating field trip experience before their moving up ceremony.  Students braved the weather and we all had a great time during this overnight experience.  We look forward to making this a Dayton Avenue School tradition.

3rd Grade Potato Race

Students in 3rd grade integrate science concepts into their annual great potato race. This hands-on activity allows students to develop their understanding of scientific principles while having fun.

Celebrating Earth Day

Students at Dayton Avenue School are celebrating Earth Day with their recycled bunnies prior to a well deserved spring recess.

3rd Grade Pajama Reading

On the heels of our March Madness reading initiative Dayton Avenue School continues to promote reading in every facet of our school.  Our 3rd grade students are enjoying pajama reading time.

Humble and Kind 3rd Grade Service Learning Initiative

The 3rd grade is transforming our already positive culture with their Humble and Kind Service Learning initiative.  The positive message of being Humble and Kind can be seen throughout the community.  The message is placed on electronic signs from the Fire Department to the Town of Brookhaven.  It is a testament to the power we have to make a difference in the lives of others.  Stay tuned for more on our Humble and Kind project.
