Hoyt Farm

4th grade students enjoy a day of learning about Native American culture at Hoyt Farm. 

4th Grade Pumpkin Centers


Students in Mrs. Defeo's class invited in our parent partners during our annual Pumpkin Centers.  Students integrated literacy, math, and science into their learning.  Students used adjectives to describe their pumpkins while finding the pumpkins height, determining if the pumpkin will sink or float, finding the circumference and much more. 

Third Grade Flexible Seating

Students in Mrs. Van Tronk, Mrs. Orlando and Mrs. Castoro's class utilize flexible seating to maximize learning.

Positive Behavior Intervention and Support - Leader in Me Assembly

Morale has never been better as sixth grade students at Dayton Avenue School instructed their peers in grades 3-5 on The 7 Habits of Happy Kids as the Hammerhead and Megalodon Shark Teams competed in "Name That Habit."  Organized by Mrs. Grieco and hosted by Mr. Weiss, Mr. Dippel, and Mr. Henderson.  The kids did an amazing job of modeling our positive expectations.

An Apple a Day Keeps You Happy!

A shout out to Rebecca Quick who received a call from the Principal today.  Rebecca demonstrated our Positive Behavior and Support - Leader in Me expectations when she delivered this apple to Dr. Christie during arrival this morning.

Let the Music Play!

Mr. Ingegno's orchestra is fully operational.  Students participated in their first full orchestra rehearsal of the year.  We look forward to their growth throughout the year.

PBIS Leader in Me Spirit Week

Faculty and staff at Dayton Avenue School are participating in our Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) - Leader in Me Spirit Week.  Tuesday was Superhero day so we all know who made a visit to Dayton Avenue School.  Dr. Christie took the day off and turned the reigns over to Captain America.  We look forward to our Friday assembly that is facilitated by our 6th grade boys and girls.
