Amazing Students Help Strike Out ALS!

Students at Dayton Avenue School were inspirational as they provided support for Chris Pendergast and his Ride for Life.  Chris and his friends are working to find a cure for ALS.  

Striking Out ALS with Chris Pendergast

This is the first of many blog posts and pictures from our participation in the Ride for Life with Chris Pendergast.  Today Dayton Avenue School helped Chris in his mission to "Strike Out" ALS.  Students lined the front of the building with inspirational messages, while other students walked with Mr. Pendergast.  We raised nearly $700.00 for the cause.  I told the boys and girls after we came inside that I was so proud of them.  Today, I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earth.  It is a privilege to be the principal of Dayton Avenue School.  

Author Visits Dayton Avenue School

Author, Michael Dotsikas visited Mrs. Smith's 6th grade class.  Not only die Mr. Dotsikas read aloud is book, Benjamin Birdies First Flight; Mr. Dotsikas provided the class with a Writers Workshop.  Students learned the writing process from the view of the author himself.
